Building a Future for all Americans Through Truth, Beauty & Reason
Guiding Principles
build
Human economy will only succeed if it coheres with the principles of natural law. That means growth. Just as our biosphere has become more complex and more energy-dense, our population must grow, with the commensurate increase in energy consumption and division of labor from one generation to the next. This requires nuclear power and yet-to-be-developed forms of energy, modern transportation and water management, and a growing, well-educated, and healthy population.
The future will be determined by scientific discovery and society’s ability to assimilate and employ these discoveries in the form of new technologies. It requires having goals, as President Kennedy established with his commitment to land a man on the moon “within this decade.” Our planet, solar system, and galaxy are full of unknown potential, merely awaiting the human touch to bring this potential into fruition for the benefit of all. A system of national banking and credit, protected by an impenetrable wall from speculation (Glass-Steagall), makes it possible to direct the needed investment into those activities that will allow future generations to benefit from the labor of the present.
peace
Peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of a shared mission to liberate humanity as a whole from conditions of poverty and fear. Cooperation among sovereign nations—each committed to the common good—creates stability at home and abroad. Economic justice, productive employment, and the joy of shared scientific endeavors, as well as vibrant cultural exchanges, form the basis of harmony within society and between nations. Lasting peace is built through collaboration, not force and intimidation.
truth
Truth exists. We will never apprehend it in perfection, but our entire system of justice rests upon the assumption that it can be known. Once Truth is no longer a standard, society degenerates to a state of “Might makes right,” and nothing but destruction remains. The principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is sacred and must be upheld. The Declaration of Independence specifies “consent of the governed,” which requires that the government be worthy of the Trust of the People. There are many unanswered crimes, including what happened on September 11, 2001. The American people deserve answers.
