Get Diane Sare on the Ballot
Here's what it takes to qualify in Maine in 2028.
Getting on the Ballot in Maine
Diane Sare needs at least 4,000 signatures from registered Maine voters, collected starting January 1, 2028 and turned in to town clerks by July 25.
Maine has a twist: no candidate can file more than 5,000 signatures. That means we can’t make up for mistakes with volume. Every signature has to count, which takes careful volunteers in towns across the state. We’re building that team now.
Maine voters said no three times when they were asked to shut down the Maine Yankee nuclear plant in Wiscasset, in 1980, 1982 and 1987. It closed anyway in 1997, and Maine hasn’t made nuclear power since. Diane’s program would build again.

How You Can Help
We need volunteers to circulate petitions. We don’t rely on paid staff or big donations from Epstein-class billionaires. We need YOU to help us get on the ballot. Here’s how you can help:
Sign.
When the window opens, a registered Maine voter’s signature is the whole ballgame. Pledge now and we’ll tell you where to sign the day it starts.
Circulate.
We’ll send you petitions and walk you through it in ten minutes. One person with a clipboard at a church supper, a farmers market or a union hall can collect dozens of signatures in an afternoon. A few volunteers like that in every part of the state is how we get it done.
Host a Signing Spot.
Your porch, your shop counter, your union hall. We list it on this page so people near you know where to go.
Tell ten people.
Send them this page.
Chip in.
Printing, gas, and legal fees.
