What a Real American President Would Do
Statement by independent presidential candidate Diane Sare, January 22, 2026
In the 250th year of our Declaration of Independence, CRAZY appears to have become the new normal. This situation must be immediately reversed, or we face consequences that are unfathomable. In order to break the spell of delusion for those of you who, out of pure desperation, wish to cling to the notion that President Trump is playing “5-D chess” and is not merely an old narcissist who is suffering from obvious cognitive decline, I provide the needed cold shower:
The World is Not at Peace
The genocide in Gaza continues as Israel continues to kill people with impunity. It is true that the killing may have slowed down, but hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are still hungry and dying of exposure and Israeli bombings in their tents amid the rubble.
Israel may soon start another war with Iran, and the United States will probably join it.
The Ukraine-Russia proxy war has not ended. Since no one in the Trump Administration seems to understand the legitimate security concerns of Russia, that war will end when Russia wins it, with ever-increasing losses of life and territory on the Ukrainian side.
There is a genocide in Sudan. Rwanda continues its killing in the DRC. Drug gangs have taken over Haiti, and other human suffering has not been alleviated.
America is Neither Peaceful nor Prosperous
New York City has 154,000 homeless public school students, and across the nation 4.2 million young Americans will be homeless at some point this year.
The American people are holding record amounts of personal debt, automobiles are being repossessed in record numbers, and a million homeowners are behind on their mortgage payments.
There are masked, untrained ICE agents, many of whom are veterans from our forever wars and suffering PTSD, roaming our streets harassing people of color, kidnapping immigrants from courthouses as they legally apply for residency and citizenship, and even shooting unarmed American citizens.
Insane Foreign Policy
The Trump Administration, in violation of international law and the U.S. Constitution, just invaded a sovereign nation and kidnapped its head of state and has imprisoned him, along with his wife, in New York.
President Trump has written a letter to the Prime Minister of Norway which reads:
Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.
This is insane. The current president is more delusional than Shakespeare’s failing King Lear who met a terrible and tragic end, which we do not wish upon anyone, and certainly not our nation.
But, I must also point out that the previous president, Joseph R. Biden, was so feeble already in 2020 that he wasn’t allowed out in public to campaign for himself, and by the middle of his presidency was wandering off the podium, clueless about where the exit was, and as we see now with the Trump cabinet, everyone in the Biden Administration pretended that all was well. We were even told that Biden was “at the peak of his intellectual powers,” “had never been sharper,” and other such nonsense, until someone decided to set him up for a fall at an early presidential debate in 2024.
Americans Are Not Acting Sane
I am sorry to have to point out to you that you, dear reader, are to blame for this state of affairs, just as the Europeans are to blame for the president’s attempt to snatch Greenland. You have been watching all of this and decided that the best course of action is to remain silent, and pretend that all of this is normal, or worse, to support and cheer for this lunacy, like the courtiers of the naked Emperor in Hans Christian Andersen’s famous tale, who raved about the beauty of his nonexistent robes in order to keep their standing in the kingdom.
I understand that your, or your neighbor’s, desperation in clinging to such nonsensical tales – that Donald Trump really knows what he’s doing, and he’s bringing down the globalist British imperial system–comes from fear and desperation to find a shred of hope that the future is brighter than the present. If you persist in clinging to this fear-induced delusion, your future will be much worse than you imagine.
Nothing to Fear but Fear
This is why I declared my candidacy for President of the United States at this seemingly “early” moment. I have stepped forward, as Lyndon LaRouche did repeatedly, to offer presidential leadership in the wings– a voice of reason, which if heeded, might guide our republic to safety, and even put us back on course to “perfecting our union,” as our Constitution states, and as a result of this dedication, contributing to the good of mankind as a whole.
The first step is to let go of the defense of insanity. Just drop it. What we are seeing from almost everyone in Washington, D.C., including the Democratic Party’s so-called “opposition” is insane. There is no need to defend it.
As President Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated in his first inaugural address:
This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief, that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory.
As FDR did with his Pecora Commission, we must now declare war on Wall Street and the City of London. Being a billionaire does not give you the right to dictate policy to millions of hardworking, good-hearted American people.
The transatlantic monetary and financial system is bankrupt! Stop pretending that $2.4 quadrillion of derivatives obligations can ever be paid. It can’t.
What a Real President Would Do
The great economic powers of the world–namely, Russia, China, India, and the United States–must convene an urgent conference to reorganize the system. Put it through bankruptcy organization. Write off the fictitious, unpayable debts and protect those things that are tied to physical reality.
No more floating exchange rates. Peg the value of the dollar to something real. Implement a global Glass-Steagall policy. Commercial banks must not engage in speculative activity, period. If gamblers want to gamble, fine, but not on the depositor’s and taxpayer’s dime.
In the United States, we must abolish the Federal Reserve and replace it with a National Bank. We need a truly Hamiltonian policy of credit, as understood uniquely by Lyndon LaRouche (and not understood by Jamieson Greer), which fosters those activities that give mankind more power over nature. Namely, we need a crash program for fusion energy and space colonization, which will inspire and necessitate urgently needed improvements in our education system, and more.
The United States needs 42,000 miles of new high-speed rail and the energy to power it. We need at least 150 new nuclear power plants of the most modern design, which are not only inherently safe, but also can consume what was formerly known as “nuclear waste” for fuel.
We need large-scale water management, like the North American Water and Power Alliance (NAWAPA), to alleviate drought and floods. We need parity prices for our dedicated family farmers to keep them in business, supplying wholesome food to the American people and the world.
If we embark on such a crash program, we will discover that we have a terrible shortage of skilled labor, which will need to be urgently addressed. Our unions will have to massively expand their apprenticeship programs, and our millions of veterans can help in the training. We need a modern-day Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), as Bronx Congressional candidate Jose Vega has proposed.
We will quickly discover that we need many of the immigrants that we are driving out of the country, and a merit-based path to citizenship will be established. Against this backdrop of progress, criminals and drug gangs will stand out in bold relief to be arrested and prosecuted—including those operating on Wall Street and in Washington, D.C.
I have great faith in the goodness and generosity of the American people, once a way forward is presented that “makes sense”. We have pulled our nation from the depths of despair in the past, and we can do so again now. Six billion-plus people are waiting for us to come back to our senses and have not entirely given up hope in the American people, despite the insanity of our alleged “representatives” on the world stage.
Crazy is crazy. Let’s admit it, and move forward from here.
